|Consul General Hu Shan paid farewell call on NSWGovernor Marie Bashir|
Consul General Hu Shan paid his farewell visit to Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir, Governor of New South Wales on 16 February 2011.
Consul General Hu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Governor for Her Excellecy's great support and help during his work in Sydney. He said that the frienship and cooperation between China and New South Wales in politics, business, culture, science and technology and tourism, and investment grew at very fast speeds against the backdrop of the Global Financial Crisis, and it would not have been possible without the keen attention and great efforts of the Governor. Consul General Hu thanked the Governor in particular for her care and kind assistance to the Chinese students studying here in NSW in her role as the Chancellor of the Sydney University.
Her Excellency said that the good relations between China and New South Wales were very heartening. Consul General Hu had done a great job with high efficiency and it was sad to see his leaving. She said that the New South Wales' friendship with China started long before the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia, particularly the trade between Guangdong Province and New South Wales. She told the Consul General that she would love China and the Chinese people all her life and the Australian people trust China and admire Chinese people's wisdom. She believed that the prospects of New South Wales-China relations would be even brighter.
Deputy Consul General Ji Ningfeng also attended the meeting.
