At the invitation of Mayor Artin Etmekdjian, Consul General Duan Jielong attended the Chinese New Year Celebrations in Ryde on 4 Feburary.
Mr. Duan sent his best wishes to the local Chinese community and all residents in Ryde. Citing the congratulatory visits by many federal and state dignitaries to Sydney’s China town during the Chinese New Year, he applauded the healthy development of China-Australia relationship and the harmony between Chinese and other local communities. The Consul General called upon the people in Ryde to support further development of bilateral relationship on the eve of the 40th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.
Federal MP John Alexander and NSW Attorney-General Greg Smith also attended the Celebrations.
