Visa application of regular passport holders has been outsourced by the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney ( referred as CG) to Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (referred as Centre) located at 299 Elizabeth Street, Sydney exclusively since 30/11/2009. Other agents have to lodge applications through the Centre too, as the CG doesn't accept applications directly by them. You are kindly requested to go directly to the Centre for ordinary visa applications unless you have managed to make an online reservation through the official website of the CG and promised to come in person for an interview. More details can be found at the website or you may call the Centre @ 61-2-94758800. For diplomatic or official/service passport holders, applications are accepted at the CG as usual.

Besides, the Consular Section of the CG is still the only authority in NSW to accept applications for Chinese passport/travel document, HK visa/entry permit/passport, notarization and document authentication. No arrangements of outsourcing or designating agents are in process.

The CG kindly reminds,

ØAll Staff members of the Consular Section of the CG wear badges with "Consulate Staff". They work inside the CG within publicized hours.

ØOnce an application is submitted, the applicant will be given by the CG a Pickup Form in pink colour with bar code as the only proof to collect and pay for the processed application later.

ØThe CG cares for every piece of application. Whether you submit it by yourself or by any agent, the chance of getting a positive result is exactly the same.

ØIf you decide to use other agents to submit applications to the Centre or provide other services for you and pay extra fees for it, it will be your own personal decision and commercial conduct. The CG is not responsible in any case. If any disagreement with the agent arises, please find a solution in accordance with the Australian law.
