|The 7th Round of China-Japan-ROK Senior Foreign Affairs Officials' Consultation and the First Asian Policy Dialogue Is Held in Beijing|
On March 5, 2012, the 7th round of China-Japan-ROK Senior Foreign Affairs Officials' Consultation and the 1st Asian Policy Dialogue was held in Beijing. The consultation was chaired by Vice Foreign Minister of China Fu Ying and attended by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Koro Bessho and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Kim Jae-shin.
The three parties discussed the implementation of the outcome of the trilateral leaders' meeting in 2011 and the preparations for the trilateral leaders' meeting and foreign ministers' meeting in 2012 and had an in-depth exchange of views on issues of common concern. The three parties agreed to continue to push forward pragmatic cooperation, expand social, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, enrich and deepen the future-oriented all-round cooperative partnership among the three countries based upon the consensus reached by the leaders of the three countries. The three parties believed that in such a context that the world situation is undergoing complex changes, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea should further raise the level of cooperation, have timely communication and coordination on major international and regional issues and join hands to meet challenges together, maintain regional stability and promote common development.
China is the coordinator for the China-Japan-ROK cooperation and coordination this year and will host the 5th China-Japan-ROK Leaders' Meeting and the 6th China-Japan-ROK Foreign Ministers' Meeting.
